Listing items with eBay's product catalog

eBay maintains a 'product catalog for certain categories, like music CDs, DVDs or electronic gadgets. You can use GarageSale to associate your auction with a product listed in eBay's catalog. When you start your auction eBay will automatically add a product description and a product image to your listing, freeing you from the task of collecting this information by yourself.

To add product information to your auction template, first select a catalog-enabled category. GarageSale's category browser will tell you if the selected category supports catalog listing at the bottom of its window.

After you selected catalog-enabled you can link your listing with a product from the Template's inspector window:


Clicking the magnifying glass in the product row brings up the product chooser window:


Use the search field at the top of the window to enter parts of the name, the UPC or the ISBN of the product you are looking for and press Search.

After the search results are returned, select a catalog item from this list. The information eBay will include in your listing will be shown at the right of the window.

Once you have closed the window, the name of the selected catalog item will be shown the Template's inspector and in the auction preview above your item description:
